Vitamin D drops for baby
Most doctors recommend that breast feeding mothers supplement their baby with vitamin D drops, as ours did. Without doing any research I bought what I thought was a good drop for my son, Enfamil Poly Vi Sol. This is a multi vitamin drop. My husband took one look at the ingredients and said "I don't think so."
After doing some research we decided to visit our local health food store Harvest Health. We ended up buying Jarrow brand vitamin D drops. These drops are fantastic! They have no extra ingredients and it only takes one drop a day. My son can't even tell he is taking it! The Enfamil drops were awful all around. The daily dosage is a full dropper of artificial colored and flavored liquid. It always made a huge mess and stained my sons clothing, plus it tasted horrible and he always refused it. Save yourself the hassle and get the pure, clear, nonstaining, great tasting vitamin D drops!

Homemade wipe solution for cloth wipes
We use cloth wipes along with my son's cloth diapers. At first I thought it would be a pain in the butt- however it turns out to be easier than using disposable wipes-and so much cheaper! We use mostly baby wash cloths, but we do have a few store bought wipes. I hope to make my own soon! Here is my cloth wipes solution receipe:
I use Mustela baby wash and Mustela baby lotion.
Add two or three squirts of the lotion and the baby wash to 3 cups of hot water and whisk the mixture together.
Pour the mixture into wipes warmer (wipe it out between uses, usually once a week) and then add an additional 2 cups of hot water.
Plug warmer in and you are ready to go! I prefer to dip the wipes in the warmer as needed-it seems to keep everything fresh.

Grovia Bamboo Prefolds
Let me first say that these prefolds are so soft! They are much softer than any other prefold I have touched. They are 55% bamboo and 45% unbleached organic cotton. I ordered size two with the baby blue edging thinking these would fit my 9 month old 22 pound son. Way too small! So beware, they shrink a lot! The prefolds started out measuring 14"x15.5". After prepping they measure 12"x13".
While they are too small for my little man to wear with pins or a Snappie, they fit very nicely in a cover with a newspaper fold.
These Grovia Bamboo prefolds are very absorbent tri-folded and also work great inside a pocket diaper as an insert. My photos show it folded inside a fully unsnapped one size Blueberry cover (amazing cover btw) in the giraffe print and also inside a blue Bummis Super Lite cover in a size medium.
I am so happy that these work for us tri folded! I would be so heartbroken if they didn't! They are a bit pricy-I think I paid $4 a piece for them. I had won a gift card to Simplebaby.com from the EcoSprout Twitter party so that really helped!
Overall, I recommend these and would buy them again. Spoil your baby's bottom with softness and treat yourself to a pack!

Wordologies!
I won these awesome notepads and journals in a giveaway from accordingtojenny.com.
These note pads are so cute and I love the journals! The journals were a total surprise-I didn't realize that the prize included both the notepads and journals! The journals are really cool. Each one has a different type of paper inside. One has plain white paper, one has ruled pages like a notebook, and one has graph paper inside.
The notepads are great too-there is quite a but of paper on each pad. I love the inspirational sayings on them also. Thank you to Wordologies and According to Jenny!

I recently received a sample of Sheepish Grins Lanolin Wool Soap in Pink Sugar with my order from Simple Baby. It smells AWESOME! It is so yummy smelling that I keep going back to it just to smell it! I cannot wait to use this product. My son has not been wearing any wool to bed lately so it might be a bit before I get around to lanolizing any covers. I will follow up with a review when I do wash them. You can check out Sheepish Grins online at sheepishgrins.com.

Here is my receipe for homemade CLOTH DIAPER SAFE laundry detergent. I use this on ALL of my famlies laundry and it is fantastic!
2 parts Borax,
2 parts washing soda,
1 part Oxyclean free and clear.
I use 2 bumgenius scoops per load (I'm guessing 2 TBS)
These are the same ingredients in the major cloth diaper detergents MINUS the filler.
Every few loads of cloth diapers I add 5 drops of Tea Tree Oil to my cold prewash. Then hot wash cold rinse with 2 BG scoops of my detergent. Sometime I also add 5-10 drops of lavender oil for fun to the wash cycle.
I have NO build up or stink issues and my diapers are SPOTLESS. (I always rinse solids off as they occur). I have NEVER stripped my diapers. Once a month I use 1/3 cup bleach on my flats, prefolds and inserts in the cold prewash ( I add the covers in after prewash for the hot/cold wash cycle).
This detergent has saved my family so much money!
I just ran out of fabric softner! Then I remembered that I had been wanting to try to make my own. Well I guess now is a good time! i already make my own laundry soap so this had to be easy! Here is the formula i used:
1 part suave apple scent conditioner
2 parts WHITE vinegar
3 parts hot water
I mixed these ingredients in a picture and dumped them into the aforementioned empty fabric softner jug. I cannot wait to see how this formula works!
UPDATE!
So we have been using the homemade softner and I think it works great! I so love not having to buy fabric softner all time. Now if I could just get those dryer balls made....
